1     The dates of your exhibition or performance will be:

4     The Artist agrees to be present at the Galerie Quint-Essences to talk to the public the _______________________, the day of the opening and to help plan and put in place, as well as take down, the exhibition (or performance props and scenery), as well as for a minimum of two Saturday afternoons (see Number 6 below).

5     The Artist is to furnish a résume or CV, or a short background text, as well as a list of prior sites where he or she has exhibited, a list (or several lists) of the works to be exhibited in the Galerie Quint-Essences, their dimensions and prices (keeping mind that the gallery will take 33% of all sales in or resulting from the exhibition and adjusting prices accordingly).

6     The Artist also agrees to gallery sit and speak to participants of Art-Thé events on the following Saturday afternoons (the Artist has the right to use the studio to work if no one is present that particular day) :  DD/MM/2005(6)  &  DD/MM/2005(6) from 12h30 à 17h30 (please add additional dates at end of paragraph).  The Artist will have the right to use the kitchen on the 2nd floor to make and eat lunch if no one is in the gallery. 

7     Any piece of art work that is exhibited in the Galerie Quint Essences must be for sale and can not be labeled as part of the Artist's collection or previously sold.

8     If the Artist considers it necessary, he or she will be responsible for insuring the art work exhibited in the Galerie Quint-Essences at its just and real value for the duration of the exhibition and en route to and fro the gallery.  The Galerie Quint-Essences can not be held liable in cas of theft, breakage, floor, fire, vandalism or other mishap.  The Artist is to take note and agree that signing this contract will signal his acceptance of these terms and conditions.  The Artiste exhibits his or her work at his own risks and peril since the space is provided gratis.

9     The Artist is responsible for any and all costs engendered by the opening; i.e., any special printing costs for invitations or posters, any beverages or tidbits/snacks offered,  postal mailing of invitations, labels and envelopes.  The Galerie Quint-Essences will gladly and prefers to design and create any paper information sent out.  N.B. Postal mailings usually cost around 200 to 250 francs for our present list of guests - additional guests on the Artist's list need to be considered when costs are calculated.

         The Galerie Quint-Essences hopes to grow and improve thanks to the joint efforts of the gallery and its artists.  For this reason it is hoped that the artist will provide a copy of his or her list of guests which will remain to be added to the present list of gallery guests to continue to support the arts and encourage future artists.   The gallery has no desire to "spam" people on the list but simply inform them of openings, exhibitions and activities in the gallery.  For this reason, any e-mail list of guests provided by the Artist will always contain a withdrawal from the list clause so the choice to continue or to stop informational mailings will be simple and clear.  

10    The Artiste wishes to / does not wish to speak or give a conference, slide show or PowerPoint presentation of his/her art. (Please strike out the answer which does not pertain).  The topic sill be  _______________________  and the date proposed by the Artist is the DD/MM/2005(6).  La Galerie Quint-Essences accepts / rejects this proposal and suggests the following :_______________________________________

11    The Artist is / is not interested in offering courses or workshops in his field of expertise : ___________________________________. 

12    The Galerie Quint-Essences will be entitled to 25% of the income for all public paying courses, conferences, concerts or performances to defray costs engendered.  The Artist hereby agrees to this percentage:             (Please initial then sign)

13   NB: In cases where artistic activities take place in the space provided by the Galerie Quint-Essences or Objectif Réussir on the ground floor:

The Artist is aware that he/she is to bring and is responsible for any and all equipment used (projecteur, portable computer, beamer, screens, etc.) as well as cleaning up and putting the Galerie Quint-Essences or the conference room back in its originally clean  state after the activity.

14     The Artist will pay to the Galerie Quint-Essences, in the case of any sales during or thanks to the exhibition,  30% of the total income.  The Galerie does not accept checks (cheques) or credit cards.  It only accepts cash in Swiss Francs or its equivalent in € (Euros) or postal mandats made out to Harriette Laurent.  A receipt will be given for all payments (to the Artist) and a copy kept at the Galerie.)

15     Concerning the video created by the Télé Objectif Réussir team:

     Objectif Réussir will create and put on its web site, and that of Télé Objectif Réussir, a specially made video of the Artists of each exhibition or artistic activity or performance. 

     The Galerie Quint-Essences will also have the right to do so, as well as use the video for advertising purposes for both the Galerie and the Artist. 

     To enable the creation of a quality video, the Artist accepts to take the time to be available for filming session dates that are mutually acceptable and which may take place at the Galerie or in more appropriate settings...  A single copy of the finished video will be given to the Artist free of charge.

     The Artist will have the right to use his/her copy for marketing purposes, meetings with perspective clients or in any other place or time as seems beneficial to the Artist.  However, if he/she wishes to give copies to his/her clients he/she must purchase these copies from the Galerie Quint-Essences or Objectif Réussir.   The Artist will not have the right to copy or sell the video without the permission in writing of Objectif Réussir and/or the Galerie Quint-Essences in order to permit the author-creators to recoop their production costs (which usually run from 3 to 5000 frs or more / video).

     The purchase price to the Artist is 20 Swiss Frs / copy of the video (the Artist may later resell his purchased copies for an equal or higher price to his clients). 

16     The Artist accepts to exchange and put on his/her web site the e-mail address and links to the Galerie Quint-Essences and to Objectif Réussir, who will do the same for the Artiste during and after the exhibition on archival pages, artist lists and useful contacts and link pages. The Artist is expected to indicate if he/she does not wish personal address, phone numbers, etc. listed on the Galerie Quint-Essences site and to furnish a written list of all information the Artist will allow.

17)     The Artist will provide a CD with a list of photos (250pxls wide in 2 columns - see   www.galerie-quint-essences.ch/photos_valerie_auverson.htm), titles, dimensions, original price and resale price through the Galerie Quint-Essences that the Artist will exhibit at the Galerie.  The Galerie will use this page on the Archives and under the Artist's name during and after the exhibition.  As works are sold the Galerie requests that the artist inform us so we may so indicate on the page itself.  The Artist may send the Galerie additional works in the same format in the future if the Galerie may continue to sell the works at the same terms as agreed upon above.  The Showcase service is free to the Artist, the 33% of sales price still holds.

18)         The Artist and the Galerie Quint-Essences will come to an agreement concerning the possibility of the Artist's allowing the Galerie to rent or lease his/her works in a seperate and detailed contract. (The Artist should, however, indicate his/her wish to participate in this program with the Galerie Quint-Essences: Yes  c No c )
