The Galerie Quint-Essences is proud to represent the talented Brazilian sculptor, Marx Tolentino. His present work is the transformation of his magnificent and spacious home in Juiz de Fora, Brazil, into a center for artists and writers. This is a massive task and financially very taxing. Son travail actuel est la transformation de sa belle et spacieuse propriété à Juiz de Fora, Brésil, en un centre pour accueillir les artistes et les écrivains. Max Tolentino's sculptures are often made of steel or sometimes in mixed media, such as a combination of wood and metal. This collection is but a small selection of his works. With the exception of the Van Gogh Cat and Like a Woman, all the other works are in Brazil at the moment.  COMMENTS BY GALLERY CURATOR, ANAIS LAURENT: I have recently acquired two of Max Tolentino's sculptures, one of which is named The Van Gogh Cat; the other is Comme la Femme. The former is a simple wire construction with movable plate metal attachments painted in the primary colors, similar to some of Miro's works, but on a smaller scale. It is flexible in that it can be set on a table or hung from a beam where it will enliven the space and bring a sense of delight. The work is for sale at 1,500€. The latter is in wood, with a steel base. It is for sale at 1,200€. In either case, half of the sale price will go to Max to help in his transformation project.

I shall be showing the works permanently in the gallery for your pleasure. I find Max Tolentino's work highly creative; the strong lines, bright colors and mixed media a dynamic combination that make it particularly suited to modern homes or as an eye catcher in a business or sitting room where onlookers are being discreetly encouraged to think creatively.
