Our Hopes for the Future

Together we can do anything!   -  Texte en français

The Gallery Quint-Essences has existed since April 29, 2005.

We have had the immense pleasure of presenting 4 exhibitions to date.

At each exhibition the artist or artists has/have offered a gift to the Galerie Quint-Essences to put in a permanent collection that serves as a thank you for having provided the possibility of exhibiting art works with no rental fees for the 2 month period, the only costs to the artist(s) being the mailing of his or her own invitations (created by the Gallery) and a 30% commission on any sales during or as a result of the exhibition.

As gallery director I find these gifts representative of an investment by the Q-E artists in our mutual future.

On the other hand, it seems very important to me to recognize these gifts by mentionning them to our viewing public and our Friends of the Gallery so everyone understands how grateful I am as gallery director.   This wonderful example of generosity should not go unnoticed and needs to be recognized - it often seems that those who share without thinking about returns, and who do so with joy, are those who have the least... A bright step on the path we walk together toward the future.

The gifts received to date:

1  hexagonal table totally hand-painted in the Galerie Quint-Essences' primary colors of red, yellow and blue, and donated to the Gallery before we even opened by Catherine (Cat) Spitz, coach, whose exhibition focused on "Art Therapy" and which took place over the months of July-August, 2005.

Wall paintings (murals) (over three floors!), which light up our day each time we climb the stairs to the gallery, by Lyse Paroz who participated in our first group exhibition over the months of May-June, 2005.

1 Art Dictionary (in English) chock full of information on the known art movements, art terminology and biogrpahies of important artists... plus beautiful black and red collage, a pot pourri burner, a fan and a heater by Pascale Morand, whose exhibition "Les Sens de la Vie / The Meanings of Life" took place over September-October, 2005.

1 Book on the art of Dürrenmatt because he represents one of the most important writer-artists of Switzerland, and because our literary and artistic heritage needs to be brought to light, offered by Anaïs Laurent, gallery director whose exhibition "A Fleur de Peau: fleurs de rêve, fleurs de songe/Sensitive Sentiments: Dream flowers, Thought Flowers" draws to a close on the 31 December, 2005.

The gallery and the artists also received a gift of oil paints from Lucia Leemann who is no longer painting but exploring her talents and goals through Dance as Prayer - follow the link to the article on her gift.
