Death to Death !

They say

He died for us.

What for, I ask?

So man can find excuses

for his ever growing need

for violence and free himself

from fear of death?

What did His one death

accomplish but to furnish

nourishment for seedling vines

that would in turn

become the wine

they drink symbolically

in pagan rites of

sacrificial blood-letting

to ensure good crops

or win battles that

will let more blood against

the unseen enemy of sin?

If God there be

then this I ask:

Stop this ritual of death

and let us live our lives in peace.
