Born in Moscow to a family of professional
pianists Anastasia Voltchok began piano
studies at age 4. She studied with Evgeny
Malinin and Larissa Dedova at the Moscow
Tschaikowsky Conservatory, with Rudolf
Buchbinder at the Academy of Music in Basel,
Switzerland and with Santiago Rodriguez at
the University of Maryland, College Park,
USA where she was awarded a Doctor of
Musical Arts degree.
Since her orchestral debut under Vladimir
Ponkin at age 8 Anastasia Voltchok has
performed extensively throughout Western and
Eastern Europe and the United States.
Recently Anastasia Voltchok appeared as a
soloist with Valery Gergiev and the Kirov
Orchestra of the Mariinsky-Theatre St.
Petersburg, Mario Venzago and the
Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, Basel
Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra della Svizzera
Italiana, Zurich Chamber Orchestra, the
Musikkollegium Winterthur, the London Mozart
Players together with such conductors as
Hans-Peter Frank, Howard Griffiths,
Cornelius Meister, Thomas Hanus. As a
recitalist she has also performed at New
York’s Lincoln Center, the Great Hall of St.
Petersburg Philharmony, the Tonhalle Zurich,
the Gulbenkian-Foundation in Lisbon, the
Santa Cecilia in Rome and the Victoria Hall
in Geneva. As guest artist Ms. Voltchok has
appeared at the Moscow Easter Festival, the
Toradze Piano Festival, the Wiliam Kapell
Festival, La Roque d’Anthéron Piano Festival
in France, the Sofia Music Weeks and the
International Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli
Piano Festival in Bergamo and Brescia, Italy.
Highlights in the near future include
collaborations with such conductors as
Mikhail Pletnev, Mario Venzago and John
Neschling as well as the performance of
Rodion Shchedrin’s second piano concerto
with the Mariinsky-Orchestra and Valery
Gergiev.
Ms. Voltchok is a winner of many awards and
prizes, including First Prize at the
International Piano Competition in
Senigallia, Italy. In July 2003 Anastasia
Voltchok was awarded First Prize and the
Gold Medal at the International World Piano
Competition in Cincinnati, USA.
Ms. Voltchok’s performances have been
broadcast by Swiss National Radio, Russian
Radio and TV,
RAI-TV in Italy. France Musique, in Germany,
in the UK and in the USA. The new CD of
Anastasia Voltchok with works by Prokofiev
has been released recently.
